About the Enhanced Access
We work closely with local Primary Care Networks (groups of GP Practices) in Coventry and Warwickshire North to provide Enhanced Access clinics. These are clinics that provide additional general practice appointments outside of the usual opening hours between 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm (virtual) Monday to Friday, and 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (face to face) on Saturdays.
All patients registered with a GP Practice (within the PCNs that we oversee) are entitled to evening and weekend appointments during these times. Clinics will vary but you could see a doctor, nurse, or another healthcare professional based on the nature of your appointment.
The Enhanced Access service is available to all ages, making it an effective way for all patients to be seen and supported outside of “core” working hours.
Referrals to your local Enhanced Access clinics are made through your registered GP Practice. Please contact your surgery for more information or to request an evening or weekend appointment.
The following patients will not have access to an Enhanced Access service appointment at the current time:
- Patients with long term mental health conditions including psychosis
- Acutely suicidal patients
- Acute chest pain that sounds like a myocardial infarction (MI)
For more information about Enhanced Access clinics operated by Coventry & Rugby GP Alliance, our service telephone lines are monitored 8am to 8pm (Monday – Friday) and 8am to 5:30pm (Saturdays).
